The October 10, 2016 meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by club Vice-president John Steffen in President Stremlau’s absence. There were 73 members and 13 guests present. The guests tonight were Dave & Chris Cooper, Kathy & Bud Burton, Steve Barton – owns a 2012 red convertible; Grant Barton – owns a 2008 red convertible; Darlene & Steve Corrie – owns a 2008 yellow ZHZ; Steve & Collette Rees own a 2009 orange coupe, Rich & Mary Anderson are purchasing a new Corvette; and Jodie Marcy owns a 2016 white Z51. Welcome all!! John Steffen asked members that wish to socialize during the meeting to please move to the waiting room or go outside so that those interested in the meeting can hear. The club has had an awesome summer, but it isn’t over yet. So sign up and join the fun!! John then wished Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all who are celebrating in October. Joe Lowry advised that he and his wife celebrated 51 years on October 9, 2016. Congratulations to the Lowrys!
Secretary’s Report – The September 2016 meeting minutes as posted on the website were reviewed with no corrections. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept.
Treasurer’s Report – MICC Treasurer, Mourina Sweet, gave the treasurer’s report for Sept 30, 2016 including a detailed breakdown of all transactions. There were no questions. A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept as presented.
Activities – Activities Chairman Jim Gehrig gave an overview of the activities that are planned for the rest of the year. Oct 15th is the Caterpillar Antique Collector’s event in Morton sponsored by Tom Stanesa, the Hound and Hare rally on Oct 22, 2016 (contact is Moe Sweet) and a road trip to Rock Falls to the Candle Light Inn for dinner (contact is Jim Ortiz). Moe went over the details of the Christmas Party at Weaver Ridge (contact is Marilyn Carls). Check the website for more details of all the activities that are planned.
Membership – Chris & David Cooper, Bernie Perino and Kathy & Bud Burton were voted in as new members. This brings our membership total to 179 in 100 households.

Governor’s Report – Sandy Arnold has tickets for the St. Jude Raffle that can still be purchased for $50 each. Only 2,000 tickets are being sold. The raffle prize is a certificate valued at $54,000 toward the cost of a new Corvette or a cash payout of $40,000.
Program – None.
Old Business – The apparel committee has new shirts that can be ordered/purchased. Visors for the ladies and caps for the men are available for purchase at all meetings. They ask that you pay for shirts when you order them. Sizes & prices are available on the website. The club still has a number of jackets for sale – please contact Elaine Kasky if you are interested. Dining Out books can be purchased for $30 and can be used immediately. John Morris asked for volunteers for ‘Ringing the Bells’ to raise money for the Salvation Army on Nov 12, 19 or Dec 10 at Bass Pro shop in East Peoria. Sign-up sheets are available.
New Business – Christmas party is Saturday Dec 3, 2016 at Weaver Ridge – Please sign up by Nov 14, 2016 and pre-pay ($43 per person) at the November meeting. Sue McMorris asked that the configuration of the meeting room go back to the way it was previously stating “this set up is confusing for her.” Steffen stated that the set up seems to be working well, but her suggestion would be considered.
Announcements – Election of officers: David Bowles and Rick Doro are running for Vice-president for 2017. If you have not returned your ballots, please get them in the mail, postmarked by October 15, 2016. Ballots received after that date will not be counted. Election results will be announced at the Nov meeting.
Tom Stanesa thanked those that donated trophies to Central Illinois Riding Therapy Group. They were well received and much appreciated.

Trivia and 50/50 – Trivia question: The Muncie gearbox replaced Borg-Warner 4 speed in the late 1963 Corvette. What was the first gear ratio in the wide-ratio Muncie that year?
A) 2.56 B) 2.57 C) 2.58 D) 2.54
The correct answer was A) 2.56, and was worth $10. Dan Hittinger answered incorrectly. The November trivia question correct answer has a value of $20.
The 50/50 drawing was $66 tonight and was won by Joe Lowry. Joe donated his winnings to the shoe fund. Thank you Joe!
