Meeting Minutes for April 2017

The April 10, 2017 meeting was called to order at 6:33 PM by club president David Bowles. There were 68 members present and 7 guests.  Welcome all!! Check the website for the coming events, and your e-mail for invites to all the events the club has to offer. David wished Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all who are celebrating in April, especially George & Dee Taylor who will celebrate their 61st anniversary on April 16th!!

Secretary’s Report – The March 2017 meeting minutes as posted on the website were reviewed with no corrections. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept. 

Treasurer’s Report – MICC Treasurer, Mourina Sweet, gave the treasurer’s report for March 31, 2017. There were no questions. A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept as presented. 

Activities – Jim Gehrig gave a summary of future activities: Red Lobster on 4/22, & Harvest Café on 5/6. Before leaving for Harvest Café, Jim will take pictures from 2-3 for those wanting pictures with your cars. There will be a St. Jude Drive mandatory safety meeting on May 9th. For the Auto Cross in Quincy on May 20th, Sandy still needs 4 volunteers. The Louie-Louie Parade on May 26th will now have a $10/person entrance fee. If you plan to participate in the 4th of July parade, they will need a copy of your insurance card and registration card. Contact Connie Durham if you have any questions.

The Car Show on May 27th is the big fundraiser for the club & much help is needed. Sandy read a letter from Chairman Linda Picton explaining the show. This letter was e-mailed to all members in March, and can also be found on the website.

Membership – Tracy e-mailed a new membership directory to all members on April 8th. We had 6 new members join tonight: Ron & Pat Sefried, Dale & Barbara Bailliez, and Mike & Julie Stevens. Our membership is now 187 in 103 households. Welcome to our new members! 

Newsletter – Please send all information for the Newsletter to Moe Sweet by the 25th of the month. 

Webmaster – Check the web for updates, and your e-mail for invitations for club events.

Governor’s Report – None.

Program  – None. 

Old Business – The board has decided to rescind the Sergeant At Arms position. It would have to be added to the By-Laws first.\

New Business – David recommended Richard Doro as Vice President. A Motion was made, seconded, and approved by the membership. David asked Moe to present the proposed budget for 2017. All expenses were approved by a majority vote. If you would like a copy of the budget, please contact Moe.

Announcements  – None.

Trivia and 50/50 – Trivia question: No production 1983 Corvettes were sold, but the 1984 models went on sale when?  A) Jan 1983  B) Feb 1983  C) March 1983  D) May 1983. The correct answer is: C) March 1983. It was guessed incorrectly. The May trivia question correct answer has a value of $40.

The 50/50 drawing was for $34.00 tonight and was won by Joe Lowry. Congratulations Joe!
