This drive out will go to 3 Route 66 towns celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66. Participants will be on their own to participate in each festival. We will travel as a group to Chenoa, Lexington, and Towanda.
Timing
We will leave from the Morton Cracker Barrel at 8:30 am for Chenoa. We will take I 74 to
I 55. We should arrive around 9:45.
We will leave Chenoa for Lexington around 11:45 arriving in Lexington around 12:00. They are supposed to have food trucks in Lexington.
We will leave Lexington around 2:30 for Towanda arriving around 2:45. Towanda will has festivities going until 6:00 pm.
These times are based on the published times the towns have posted when their festivities will begin. Members can also take the opportunity to take photos with their cars around each town.
After Towanda the members can either depart for home or go on to Bloomington for their celebration from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The celebration will be held at the Museum Square. 200 N. Main St.
This is Cordova's Summer Nationals. Qualifying starts at 9:00 am and the feature show is at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $35.00 each and are good for both days. So, you can go only on Friday, only on Saturday, or both days. Tickets can be ordered on line at: Cordova.Tracksideapp.com. For the people that do not want to go to the Cordova Dragstrip, we gave been invited to participate in Bartonville's 250th of America parade. At the end of the parade there will be food trucks and a concert. The cars need to be decorated in red, white, and blue.
